US (MO): Application pour in state for new MMJ facilities

Missouri has received 2,267 applications for medical cannabis facilities and businesses, which means the new statewide industry may soon be coming to South County and Jefferson County.

The state brought in over $13 million in application fees and received 2,163 requests from prospective cannabis business owners during the Aug. 3 to Aug. 19 application window.

Across the entire state, potential cannabis business owners submitted 1,163 applications for dispensary facilities, along with 554 for cultivation sites, 415 for infused product manufacturing, 17 for testing facilities and 14 for transportation facilities.

With applications continuing to come in for transporters and seed-to-sale, plus an additional 109 facility applications that received a deadline waiver due to technological problems when applicants tried to submit their applications, the state has a total of 2,267 cannabis-related business and facility applications, Department of Health and Senior Services Communications Director Lisa Cox said in an email.
