Many northern Michigan communities are deciding if they want medical cannabis businesses in their towns and one made that decision Monday night.
Petoskey city council approved three ordinances allowing for the zoning and licensing of medical marijuana provisioning facilities within city limits.
The only person voting against this was Third Ward Councilmen Grant Dittmar.
"I believe there are legitimate public health and safety concerns that we have not really addressed,” Dittmar said. “If we vote this down tonight the proponents can always do an initiative to have the voters bring it to a vote."
