Revolution Enterprises says once their expansion is complete, they will have over 650,000 square feet of growing facilities as well as greenhouses. The company also promises hundreds of jobs for the local area.
"It's incredibly humbling...it become apparent to me that it was actually a responsibility," said Revolution CEO Mark de Souza.
de Souza says he greatly values the relationship his company has established with Delevan and describes what makes the city a great base for his company's operations, "Not only situating itself in a place where we could build our facility and have growth opportunities but also do that in partnership with a town that could use the economic impact."
Delavan has a population of about 2,000 people and they have struggled with a dwindling downtown business district -- which has impacted the city's tax revenue.
Things started looking up in 2015 -- when Revolution started growing medicinal cannabis in Delavan. Now, they're adding another 75,000 square feet of cultivation space, along with dozens of acres of greenhouse space.
