US (NV): Las Vegas based MMJ growing facility near the end of construction

In Nevada, just north of Las Vegas, a new medical cannabis growing facility is nearing the end of construction. The 5000m2 high-tech greenhouse can be found roughly 20 minutes driving from the strip. Dool International worked together with different suppliers to deliver the materials for the project, and Mountain High Greenhouse Construction built the facility.

Vincent van den Dool: “We have delivered almost everything, they’re working on the finishing touches.”

Working with others
Dool International combined the efforts of a lot of different companies to complete the order. “This greenhouse is meant for growing medicinal cannabis, so it has to be high-tech,” says Vincent. “We need shade screens, energy screens, and more. Holland Screens delivered all the material for these screens.” Other elements of the greenhouse, such as sandwich plating and insect screens were delivered by other parties. The sandwich plating was handled by Biersteker, and Holland Gaas delivered the insect screens.

The growers already had an indoor installation prior to starting this new greenhouse expansion to their facility. “They chose to have a greenhouse over an indoor installation this time for various different reasons,” says Vincent. “Energy was the primary reason, running an indoor installation requires a lot of energy. Besides this the climate was a big reason, as well as the ease of control.”

Delays
Dool International had already finished delivery. “The rules in Nevada are quite strict when it comes to this kind of project,” says Vincent. “The problem was not about getting a building permit, but the fire department needed the facility to be completely up to regulations before giving the ok.” But now the project is finally coming to its conclusion.
