The development of GreenDomo

GreenDomo innovation project aims to be an integral response to an increasingly important issue: sustainable supplying. Because of the increase in the world's population and the environmental situation and considering the key role that agriculture has in this question, being able to supply cities with local food is an increasing priority for society.

GreenDomo, in addition to presenting itself as a solution to this question, offers the possibility of growing these foods with high yield and productivity and obtaining a waste-free produce. All this beside the fact that its design has not only considered the functional aspect, but also the aesthetics, because it is designed to integrate with the urban environment.

In this way, cities can be fed in a more sustainable way, bringing produce closer to final consumers, reducing transport distances, and thus the carbon footprint. It is also possible to provide a diet with healthier products, with fresh and waste-free food.

Referred to the most functional part, this design, a geodesic dome type with 16 meters in diameter and 8 in height, allows solar radiation to be distributed in a homogeneous way inside the greenhouse. The project is in its final phase, and when the construction of the prototype it is over, an agronomic technical study will be carried out, in which strawberries and tomatoes will be grown.
