The European Court of Justice has ruled that the production and marketing of CBD is not considered as narcotic, even if it is extracted from the cannabis plant in its entirety, and not only parts of it.
ʺToday's ruling by the European Court of Justice makes it clear that cannabidiol is not a narcotic, even when extracted from the hemp plant in its entirety," says Sergio Martines, CEO of Canapar. "This pronouncement opens the door to the affirmation of the European market of the CBD industry and puts Canapar, the largest company in Europe in the processing of hemp, in a position to dominate the global business of cannabidiol."
"This advantage will not only benefit Canapar, but also all the farms that, in the last two years, have believed in us and have worked with us. Today is an important day and we are sure that this decision will benefit the whole sector which has been limited for some time by prejudices and restrictive interpretations, not oriented towards economic growth. Furthermore, the opening of the Court will allow the development of products of ever-higher quality, which are the result of research and development that we consider an essential part of the project and for which we thank all our academic partners.
