The Board of Planning and Community Development (BPCD) last week unanimously approved a special permit and a minor site plan review for a cannabis cultivation operation to be located at 706 Petersham Road.
Uma Cultivation, LLC of Waltham eventually hopes to eventually construct five 10,000-square-foot buildings on the parcel, which is owned by Scott Davis and Jeffrey Cooke under the 706 Petersham Road Nominee Trust. The site plan approved by the board allows for the construction of the first building, but the construction of any additional buildings will require the subsequent approval of the board.
“There are going to be two more reviews associated with the public and the Planning Board,” said Athol Planning and Development Director Eric Smith, “and that’s during the building permit and occupancy permit phase. Even with COVID, we can do a safe outdoor on-site meeting for that.”
Uma will have to go before the board with building plans and details of its odor control system before receiving both the building and occupancy permits.
