US (MA): Grower looking to open cultivation on Cranberry Highway in Wareham

A cannabis cultivator and product manufacturer is looking to open up in the two-story former Sears location at 3119 Cranberry Highway, which is already an approved site for a separate cannabis retailer.

Trava Inc. will lease 11,835-square feet of the building for the facility, which will employ 10 to 15 people with local residents getting a hiring preference.

Trava Inc. is before the Zoning Board of Appeals for a special permit and site plan review. A public hearing was held Wednesday and the ZBA is expected to make a decision at its next meeting on Sept. 22.

The site includes 73 parking spaces, as well as other existing businesses. Attorney Philip Silverman, representing Trava, said its facility will include a receiving area and a couple of grow rooms on the first floor and the second floor will be basically all grow rooms.
