EU: Florian Pichlmaier was elected to the European Hemp Industry Association board

Florian Pichlmaier, founder and managing director of the hemp wholesaler "Signature Products" was elected board member of the European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA) on November 10th, 2021. He will support the board of directors with his many years of experience and his network from the finance and food industry and work for greater acceptance of hemp products.

The European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA)
EIHA is the only pan-European organization that represents the opinions and interests of its more than 200 members at EU level. The activities of EIHA are based on the principle of "social, ecological and economic sustainability". The EIHA is currently working on the standardization of THC limit values in feed and food, the positive effect of hemp on the CO2 balance and the life cycle assessment of hemp materials.

About the person: Florian Pichlmaier
At the age of 27, Pichlmaier is now the seventh and youngest member of the EIHA board. Through his many years of experience in the financial scene and the food industry, he brings with him a large network with contacts to influential personalities from these areas. In Belgium he worked for the Permanent Representation of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2016 and negotiated with political actors of the EU Commission. With the aim of offering hemp products of the highest quality, he last founded Signature Products GmbH together with his partner, Tobias Bühler, in 2019. The company positions itself on the market as an independent hemp wholesaler and manufacturer of private label products based on hemp. He now wants to make use of his many years of experience in lobbying and actively support EIHA in the future. He is looking forward to "even closer cooperation and the implementation of common goals".

Above all, Florian Pichlmaier would like to campaign for more acceptance for hemp products. That is why he launched the regional research project TASTINO this year together with the University of Hohenheim. In cooperation with German farmers, his company will plant and harvest hemp seeds in Baden-Württemberg and use them to produce protein-rich meat substitute products. These should soon be on the shelves of German supermarkets.

Current development of the hemp market
The European hemp market has seen massive growth in recent years. Market experts assume that this growth will continue to increase. Reasons for this include "the development of new product innovations" and "the opening of further markets". The "better understanding of the plant" and the "research" carried out on it also contribute to steady growth.
