Six greenhouse builders with sublicense to build semi-closed greenhouse

Certhon has signed a sublicense for the construction of semi-closed greenhouses. The greenhouse builder from Poeldijk, the Netherlands, is now officially builder of this sustainable greenhouse. Certhon is the 6th greenhouse builder to sign a license agreement. Obviously Casey Houweling, as patent owner, hopes to sign more sublicenses in the short term. He is currently in talks with various parties to achieve this.

Applying for a sublicense
"Greenhouse builders will have the opportunity to apply for a sublicense to build their own version of the semi-closed greenhouse", he explains. The first sublicense was granted to Prins Group in Kwintsheul. KUBO still has the exclusive rights to the Ultra-Clima® greenhouse concept, which is why Prins Group and now Certhon have introduced their own concept.

Revolutionary change
Casey Houweling developed the semi-closed greenhouse in close cooperation with KUBO and Enerdes, after which KUBO further developed the concept, rolled it out globally and made it a success. "The Ultra-Clima greenhouse has led to revolutionary changes in horticulture. The greenhouse makes it possible for horticulture to thrive in regions where growing under glass was previously not an option", the company explains.

More than 850 acres of Ultra-Clima greenhouses are currently in operation on every continent of the world. According to the KUBO, the greenhouse enables optimal climate control with the least possible use of resources. "Benefits of the Ultra-Clima® greenhouse include increased productivity, improved food safety, reduced energy and water consumption, lower CO2 emissions and ultimately improved yields."

"If you are going to build, be sure to get informed about whether your builder is actually licensed", Casey Houweling says. "Greenhouse builders and clients who build semi-closed greenhouses without a license will be prosecuted. "
