Co Konings has been named the new CEO of both Taks Handling Systems and Buitendijk-Slaman, two Dutch companies. He joined Taks Handling Systems on April 1 and succeeds Arie Meeuwissen as CEO. Co will be responsible for daily management and must further expand the deployed strategy. Arie will remain involved with the organization and will focus on Berkvens Greenhouse Mobility and Strategic Business Development for the entire group.
Under Arie's leadership, Taks Handling Systems grew into a well-known international crop processing and packaging warehouse automation player in greenhouse horticulture. The company acquired Buitendijk Slaman and Berkvens Greenhouse Mobility in early 2021. These both specialize in greenhouse logistics. That set the strategy of offering customers total greenhouse and packinghouse automation solutions, supported by a digital platform, in motion.
After more than seven years as director/major shareholder at Taks Handling Systems, Arie decided to focus on the group's strategic business development and other professional challenges. "I'm proud of the results and substantial growth the team's achieved in recent years, especially the new, close collaborations we've developed with many other parties," he says.
Co has 14 years of extensive experience scaling up and professionalizing companies in the food industry. He was general manager of cheese wholesaler DupontCheese Netherlands and, for the past six years, COO at the global open field vegetable grower and packer, Van Oers United.
Taks Handling Systems and its subsidiaries supply and install a turnkey vegetable greenhouse and packaging warehouse logistical solutions. In the coming years, the companies will focus on R&D and the organization's further growth. They will keep focusing on the latest greenhouse technology by combining current and new labor-saving, ergonomic solutions with data processing.
