A busy first day

MJBizCon has kicked off

The biggest trade show in the cannabis industry has officially kicked off. Yesterday, the Las Vegas Convention Center welcomed thousands of attendees. In fact, the organization is expecting over 35,000 cannabis executives from around the world to attend this year.

A very busy start of the first day

As can be seen in the photo above, the expo floor was immediately very crowded at the start of the first day. For the first time this year, the floor was divided into categorized pavilions, making it easier for visitors to find the companies they're interested in among the 1400+ exhibitors.

Helen Boultinghouse and Walter Buchanan of Ingersoll Rand. It was the company's first time exhibiting its cold plasma technology at a cannabis-specific show, an industry the company is excited to explore more.

The GrowSpan team is ready to welcome visitors: Rob Steere, Sal Sapia and Chris Machnich.

While many cannabis markets are seeing cannabis prices declining rapidly and cannabis investments going down significantly, MJBiz CEO Chris Walsh pointed out that there is still much to celebrate. "It's easy to get lost in all the present-day challenges and growing pains, but zoom out to the longer term and there is still exciting growth and opportunity ahead," he said during his 'State of the Industry and Prediction for 2023' speech. "We just have to buckle down and drive through the storm - riding the green wave isn't going to be enough in these economic conditions."

Of course, the Priva team was present at the show as well. Juan Gonzalez, Brianna Parker and Alex de Leon.

Lauren Lindahl and Levi Lilly of Surna Cultivation Technologies

If the crowd level on the show's first day is any indication, the interest in the industry has definitely not died down. In fact, now more than ever, the show may be the perfect place for companies to find new opportunities that can help them optimize and differentiate themselves in the current market.

Stay tuned for another update on the event tomorrow!
