US (OK): Cannabis grow facility damaged by fire

Oklahoma State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a structure fire at a cannabis grow facility southeast of this Garfield County town that caused tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage over the weekend.

“We’re still investigating as to the cause… but there was a fire inside one of the buildings at the grow facility,” said Joel Eggers, Fairmont Volunteer Fire Department chief.

No injuries were reported from the blaze, which was first dispatched to Fairmont at approximately 9:20 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, Eggers said.

After extinguishing the fire and being on the scene until about 10:40 p.m., he said firefighters were not able to determine the cause of ignition, so assistance was requested by the state fire marshal.
