New York opens adult-use cannabis license application window

New York regulators launched the application window for adult-use cannabis licenses. The license types include cultivator, processor, distributor, microbusiness, and retail dispensary licenses. The Office of Cannabis Management estimates that over 1,000 licenses may be issued. All license applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM EST on Monday, December 4, 2023.

Social and economic equity (SEE) applicants will be eligible for benefits that promote access and business viability.:

  • SEE applicants will receive a 50% reduction on application fees and application assistance from the Office.
  • Eligible SEE licensees will receive a 50% reduction in licensing fees and direct support through the Cannabis Hub and Incubator Program (CHIP).
  • Eligible SEE applicants will receive license review priority for adult-use cannabis licenses.
