For the first time, Paraguay has exported cannabis flowers to Switzerland. The Paraguayan Chamber of Industrial Cannabis proudly announced the first export of 100% Paraguayan industrial cannabis flowers, known as Kuñatai, to Switzerland.
The name "Kuñatai," which means "flower" in Guarani, not only reflects a deep connection with Paraguay's cultural identity but also highlights the quality of the product. The industrial cannabis flowers exported under this brand have been cultivated under strict controls, with cultivar registrations that guarantee their purity and compliance with international standards.
In addition to showcasing Paraguay's ability to produce high-quality products, the cannabis industry is also positioning itself as a key driver of the country's economic growth. Paraguay currently exports cannabis to more than 30 countries and is in the process of expanding its legal framework with the aim of allowing adult-use cannabis in the country. This legal shift could not only increase domestic demand but also generate new export opportunities, further strengthening the national economy.
The sector is constantly evolving, and progress toward the legalization of adult-use cannabis would allow Paraguay to access a much broader market. If successful, the country could become one of the leading exporters of cannabis-derived products on the continent and beyond, solidifying its role as a producer of high-quality raw materials.
This first shipment of Kuñatai to Switzerland is not only a source of pride for Paraguay but also an indication of the cannabis industry's potential in the country. With sustainable production, a focus on quality, and a legal framework in the process of expansion, Paraguay is increasingly positioning itself as a key player in the global industrial cannabis market.
