Vangst has acquired Se7en Staffing & Employment Solutions, a cannabis staffing agency based in Kansas City, Missouri. Se7en Founder & CEO Christy Essex will join the Vangst leadership team. This marks Vangst's third acquisition in the past 12 months.
Founded in 2019, Se7en Staffing offers a full suite of services—including temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct hire placements.
"Joining forces with Vangst is the natural next step in our journey to scale Se7en's impact," said Christy Essex, Founder & CEO of Se7en Staffing. "We've built something incredibly special at Se7en, and I'm thrilled to bring our expertise, playbook, and team to Vangst. This deal will allow us to grow faster than ever, deliver even more value to our customers and workforce, and ultimately reshape the future of cannabis employment."
The move comes at a time when more cannabis operators are shifting toward flexible, temporary staffing solutions. Vangst enables businesses to access fully vetted, credentialed, insured, W2 Vangst workers - on demand - for as little as a day or as long as years.
"We are building an unstoppable, powerhouse team and platform at Vangst with a singular focus: connecting cannabis businesses with great talent," said Karson Humiston, Founder & CEO of Vangst. "The acquisition of Se7en and Christy joining our team is a major milestone, and I couldn't be more excited for what's ahead. We're just getting started."
According to Vangst's 2025 Jobs Report, there are currently 425,002 full-time cannabis employees in the U.S.—a number projected to reach 1,000,000 within the next five years. Vangst's mission is to fill every job in cannabis, both full-time and temporary.
