US (MD): State's first micro-grow operation expecting first harvest soon

Farm Coast, Wicomico County, Maryland's first micro-grow operation approved under the Maryland Cannabis Administration, is gearing up for its first outdoor season in 2026.

The cannabis cultivation brand — founded by long-time friends, business partners, and Salisbury, Maryland, residents James Russ, Anthony Darby, Matt Hedger, Tim Dennis, and Cody Salerno — is rooted in authenticity, craftsmanship, and a deep pride for the Eastern Shore, Farm Coast said in a recent news release.

"(Each partner) brings a different strength to the table," Salerno said of each man's diverse professional background. Dennis comes from a sales and marketing background, Russ an IT background, Hedger an engineering background, Salerno a cannabis background, and Darby a cannabis and consulting background.

"Everyone's got a role and responsibility, and there's always plenty to be done around here," Darby said.
