To create the type of tectonic shifts necessary to rejuvenate the agricultural ecosystem, we may have to look beyond our own walls for inspiration and success. Luckily we don’t have to look beyond the new crops on the block- cannabis and hemp. The cannabis story is one of a multibillion dollar industry that emerged almost overnight. With a buildout from genetics through to consumer interface, cannabis and hemp had to create it all over a few short years. Mary Dimou, Senior Director with Canopy Rivers joins us to explore how this industry came together. Specifically, we will discuss the drivers for the nimble accelerated growth both organically and through M&A. Beyond the growth, we also want to explore the lessons learned on building a culture that has allowed the industry to draw on a very different and diverse pool of talent that has not only allowed the industry to tackle the tough challenges of production but the interface with consumers in a heavily regulated and often stigmatized context.
