US (CA): Local equity grant program

The Bureau of Cannabis Control (Bureau) has announced the availability of funding authorized by The California Cannabis Equity Act of 2018 (Equity Act) established by Senate Bill 1294 (Bradford 2018). The Equity Act allows for direct assistance to local jurisdictions’ commercial cannabis equity programs that provide assistance to local equity applicants or local equity licensees. The Bureau has been allocated $10 million for the grants.

To apply for grant funding, a local jurisdiction must submit an application as well as required documentation. To be eligible for grant funds, all applications must be submitted no later than April 1, 2019. The application must be completed in one session. There is no “Save” feature to allow the partial completion with final completion at a later time. Links to the application, Notice of Funding Availability, Guidelines, and Government Agency Taxpayer ID form are provided below.

Questions regarding the application should be directed to Ashlynn Blackshire at [email protected]
