CA (BC): Diving in growing pains of major cannabis greenhouses

A Canadian newspaper has dived into the assumptions and stories about the Canopy Growth facilty in Aldergrove. "Sources say process has been bumpy, but company insists concerns over massive B.C. facility are overblown", the Financial Post reports.

The Aldergrove facility is one of the centrepieces of the Canopy Growth ambitious growth strategy. With a market value of almost $20 billion, Canopy Growth is one of the largest cannabis companies in the world.

In the article the reporter follows the progress on the Aldergrove facility. "For months, whispers have circulated throughout the cannabis world about a brief video, purported to have been shot at the facility, that showed thousands of dead cannabis plants", it reads.

The team with Canopy responds to the video in the article. “We have not experienced crop failure at Aldergrove. The problem at Aldergrove is that we didn’t have the licenses in hand to be able to harvest the crop", they explain, and later: “I don’t think it is fair to say there have been lots of problems at Aldergrove. I think it is fair to say that it is a difficult task to bring 1.3 million square feet of cannabis production online in a short period of time. So it has not been a flawless process."
