US (MA): Freeze on new cannabis-related HCAs

Selectmen voted unanimously to implement a six-month freeze on negotiations of Host Community Agreements (HCAs) with new cannabis companies seeking to start businesses in Lakeville, saying the town needs time to assess the impact that the half-dozen medical and recreational operations already permitted will have on the community.

The temporary ban on new HCAs leaves open the opportunity for any of those half-dozen current HCA holders to seek revised agreements with selectmen if they want to expand their planned operations.
