CAN (ON): Details coming soon on second round of cannabis retailers

Nipissing MPP and Ontario Finance Minister Vic Fedeli says the government will be announcing details in the near future on where the next round of cannabis stores will be located.

He says lack of supply of cannabis has been a big concern and he puts the blame at Ottawa’s door.

“I continue to push the federal government to open more licensing for their licensed producers because there is simply not enough supply,” he says.

Fedeli says he’s pleased with the progress of the stores that are open.

“We have 20 stores open in Ontario now and they’re doing very well. We have received the first reports on how they’re progressing through. The supply shortage is the biggest stumbling block that we have,” Fedeli says.

Fedeli says the lack of supply is a factor across the country. He wants the feds to open up more licensing for the licensed producers.

Both northern pot retailers are located in Sudbury.
