How can wildfire affect cannabis growth?

The wildfire season is back after the disastrous events it caused in 2015, 2017 and last year. The cultivators of cannabis are on high alert as a wildfire can severely affect cannabis growth in California.

Many cannabis cultivators lost their cannabis crop to the fire last year in California. The wildfires there are immense, and it is hard to anticipate the consequences on time.

This year, the state was relatively calm, all thanks to the August rains. However, if the wildfire season comes out of nowhere, the cannabis farmers will have to make a tough decision. Even if the crop doesn’t catch fire, the growing buds will undergo damage due to the toxic pollutants in the air due to fire. This will eventually weaken the quality of the crop and harm the consumers.

Cannabis in its seeding stage could be fine if there is minimal content of toxic ash in the soil. Plants in their vegetative stage can be safe from the damage if the toxins don’t impact the root systems.
