US (CA): Cannabis indoor farm proposed in Antioch

Antioch City Council will decide on Tuesday whether to approve a proposed cannabis farm on Wilbur Avenue.

Contra Costa Farms LLC plans to operate a business that would include cultivation, manufacturing, distribution and retail dispensary with delivery on 9.2 acres at 3400 Wilbur Ave. The proposal includes the demolition of one building, renovation of two other buildings, construction of four new buildings and a parking lot.

The city has already approved three cannabis dispensaries, but Contra Costa Farms’ proposal is different from the others in that it also is a cultivation business. The proposal calls for non-volatile manufacturing, as well as six indoor cultivation sites comprising 132,000 square feet, all located within one of two of the city’s cannabis overlay districts zoned for such operations.
