US (CA): Humboldt County pre-existing cannabis operations can still apply for permits

The Humboldt County Planning and Building Department wants to remind cannabis cultivators that “pre-existing” cannabis operations (those existing prior to Dec. 31, 2015) can still apply for county permits to become legal.

The window is quickly closing for pre-existing cannabis cultivation sites to apply for permits to come into compliance, and will only remain open through the end of 2019. Applications submitted for pre-existing cultivation between now and the end of this year may qualify for permitting at 50% of the documented existing cultivation area.

No new applications for pre-existing cultivation sites will be accepted after Dec. 31, 2019.

The Planning and Building Department can be reached at 707-445-7541 for further information on the application process and its requirements.
