Integrating the heating system with present structural components

Calor Holland has signed an agreement with the company GroVida to realise a complete greenhouse heating system for a cannabis cultivation in Portugal.

The installation will be mounted in an existing greenhouse in which the integration of the heating system had to become in line with the present structural components of the greenhouse.

Jean-Pierre Schenkeveld explains: 'Each stage of the cannabis cultivation needs a strict temperature regime with special attention for the Hardening phase. For this growing stage we made a special design which focuses on the root temperature instead of area temperature. As heat source we will build a complete containerized boiler room in our Dutch factory in order to deliver a 'Plug & Play' solution directly at the greenhouse location. This made additional investments, such as building a greenhouse structure to locate the boiler room, superfluous’’.

After a thorough preparation, in which the engineering was developed in detail with the customer, the start-up is planned in early 2020.
