Signify will introduce the Philips GreenPower Xtra 1150W system with 12% more growth light and therefore more fruit yield and more yield per m². The product, combined with the Philips Green Vision 1150W electronics, meets market demand for hybrid solutions, combining LED with traditional HPS exposure systems in the search for optimal growth light. The new, extensively tested lamp and its associated electronics will be available from mid-2020.
More micromoles and more optimal photosynthesis
The Philips GreenPower Xtra 1150W lamp has a 12% higher light output per second with 2,400 micromoles per second compared to its 1000 W equivalent with 2,150 micromoles. The new Philips GreenPower Xtra 1150W lamp is based on the same technology as its predecessors and in combination with its customized Philips Green Vision 1150W electronics offers increasing growth light that results in higher yields and shorter growth cycles, while the quality of the fruit remains undiminished due to the unique light formulation. Additionally, growers are insured a rapid return on investment and an increased edge over the competition. The system fits into the regular armatures used in greenhouse horticulture.
Long service life
The Philips GreenPower Plus, which appeared on the market in 2010, often managed to significantly exceed the indicated number of rated life hours, sometimes even doubling them. In 2018, Philips Lighting introduced the Philips GreenPower Xtra 1000W, which has also proven itself extensively in growth power and reliability and number of rated life hours in recent years. Several tests at renowned tomato growers have indicated that tomatoes grown under the Philips GreenPower Xtra 1000W grow on average 5% faster than with previous generations of lamps. With 12% more light output, the Philips GreenPower Xtra 1150W system promises significantly more growth and more fruit yield.
