The Dutch HortiContact show will be bright! BLV is presenting their latest HPS lamp during the three-day event. According to the company, the new Horturion HPS intense 1,150 W offers 12 percent more light, which should give growers substantially higher yields.
With the new lamp, BLV wants to show that they not only believe in LED solutions, but also want to maximize the benefits of traditional HPS lamps.
The Horturion HPS intense, which fits into all standard double-sided luminaires, powered by a 1,150 W power supply, will be introduced during the HortiContact. The Horturion HPS intense will be available from April 2020.
More micromoles per square meter
The Horturion HPS intense 1,150 W lamp produces 2,400 µmol per second, which is 12 percent more light than the 1,000 W equivalent with 2,140 µmol. According to BLV, growers get higher yields, shorter cultivation cycles and year-round production with better results. "Which consequently results in higher revenues and shorter ROI cycles."
The Horturion HPS intense is based on the existing Horturion series, with triple capacitor and a technical lifetime of 10,000 hours. The lamp was developed by BLV engineers and is manufactured by the company itself.
Expansion for BLV
BLV is continuously expanding in the Netherlands: last year the number of HPS sales in the country grew by more than 50 percent. The lamp supplier not only offers its solutions to vegetable and ornamental growers, but also to more 'special' crops such as soft fruit and cacti.
BLV will be present at the HortiContact in Gorinchem, the Netherlands next week. The company is present at booth D131.
