Jan van Nieuwenhuizen to leave Rabobank

Jan van Nieuwenhuizen will step down from the Managing Board of Rabobank this summer, ending a 35-year banking career. After working in the financial sector in the Netherlands, London and Frankfurt, he joined the Executive Board of Rabobank in March 2014 where he was responsible for the Dutch and international wholesale banking business and the commercial real estate division.

“The time has come to move on and explore how I can put my knowledge and insights to work in the next phase of my career. I look back on ten fine and intensive years at Rabobank which gave me the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our mission of Growing a better world together,” says Jan van Nieuwenhuizen.

For Wiebe Draijer, chairman of Rabobank’s Managing Board, Van Nieuwenhuizen is a driven and dedicated banker. “We are sorry to see Jan go. He is a prudent banker and a fine person with a sound moral compass. I’m sure we will have the opportunity to work with Jan again in the future in a different context, not least because his personal mission and that of the cooperative Rabobank are so closely aligned.”

Ron Teerlink, chairman of Rabobank’s Supervisory Board: “We are grateful to Jan for his major contribution to making Rabobank what it is today. Jan is a competent and professional executive and we will truly miss him. His discretion and prudence as a banker have always been exemplary.”
