US (MI): Village of Barryton to have its first cannabis greenhouse

The village of Barryton is one step closer to having its first cannabis greenhouse as the council voted to approve six permits during its Wednesday evening meeting. "It was a full house," Village Pro-Tem Kathryn Kerr said. "Everything passed."

According to Kerr, the Council had the opportunity to vote on whether they would allow a group called M66 Group LLC to have a cannabis greenhouse permit, as well as other permits, in the village. Other permits included a recreational provisioning center, a grow facility, a consumption center and more.

According to Todd Levitt, attorney spokesperson for the group, M66 is a Michigan LLC with the purpose of participating in Michigan legal cannabis laws.

"M66 is a company that is involved in utilizing the licenses that the state and the local communities allow to do everything from opening up a provisioning center to running grow operations," Levitt said in a previous interview. "I think it's important for these communities that decide to opt-in to make sure they team up with organizations that are there to work as a team with the local community leaders and the residents of those communities to provide those benefits.
