Water level measurement of silos and A and B containers

It's not a new system, at water authorities it's been tried and tested for years. "For the glass greenhouse horticulture it is new though. Growers can now use the same technique as water authorities for measuring the water level," tells Bas van der Elst with Hendic. That's practical, because the water is 'hidden' under the canvas in silos and A and B containers. To know the water level, you don't have to open the canvas anymore as a grower.

How does this new water level meter work?
“It's wireless, so there's no wires to and from your silo, A or B container. And there's a battery with a lifespan of at least five years" says Bas. The indicator works with 2G, so it can be viewed on any device with internet worldwide. "And it works by radar technique, which means it can measure through the canvasses et cetera." The indicator measures accurate to 2 millimeters, and you can set an alarm for the highest and lowest level. You can follow the progress fully via your smartphone, laptop or device like that.

A lot of water level measurements are done mechanically, but that is not practical for the glass greenhouse horticulture industry. The more modern the sector, the less practical the mechanical measurement. These radar indicators are suitable for silos and A and B containers. "Hendic is the only company offering these level indicators in the world," tells Bas.
