Within horticulture, there is a growing demand for further automation of the cultivation process. Horticulturalists and growers are always looking for an affordable solution to be able to monitor their crops as precisely as possible in an intelligent and clear manner using automation, and to improve the cultivation process as much as possible."
"Sustainability and energy and water savings play an important role in this. However, it is not always feasible to be able to make large investments in that area." That is said by the team of Sercom Regeltechniek BV from Lisse, a developer and producer of high-quality computers and software for climate environment and water supply. They answer to these developments by launching a new climate computer, the SC400.
"In addition to the advanced and very extensive process computers that we has been developing and supplying since 1984, we have recently developed a completely new system, which focuses on the most fundamental controls in the greenhouse or outdoor cultivation", they explain.
The SC400 contains virtually all functions required for optimal control of each crop and focuses on one compartment per unit. "This makes this system extremely competitively priced and within reach for almost every grower in every area."
The SC400 computer has been specifically developed for climate control or irrigation, respectively, and is an excellent alternative for greenhouses where less advanced functions are required. The new computer focuses on almost every control function per department and the irrigation version will be able to control up to 56 valves.
In addition, Sercom has developed a number of well-thought-out functions especially for this system, such as a smart weather station, that is supplied as part of the climate version. For irrigation, it is possible to control each valve individually with the desired amount of pH and EC, it is possible to work with a combination of four fertilizer tanks and the system contains software to automatically calibrate the sensors.
The complete control and monitoring of the system can be done remotely; Sercom has developed a free app that makes it possible to make all settings via smartphone, tablet or PC. This app also gives a good overview of the situation in the greenhouse or outdoor cultivation.
"It is important to know that this system will be extremely competitively priced, will be delivered as a complete system and is very easy to operate", they conclude.
