A webinar by Svensson and Signify

Light it up and black it out

In a constantly evolving cannabis industry, it is crucial to stay up to date with regards to the latest innovations. This is why Svensson together with Signify are organizing a webinar to explore the LED lighting space and how to properly manage a cannabis operation with such a lighting system. This will be on September 16th, at 17:30 CEST. “As a cannabis or hemp cultivator, you know the importance of managing the daily lighting cycle of the crop,” Sabrina Carvalho, plant specialist with Signify, explains. “That is why we have organized this webinar so to discuss how to optimize your greenhouse lighting and implement light mitigation and blackout light dep screen strategies to effectively manage the climate and cultivation of greenhouse-grown cannabis and hemp.”

During the webinar, speakers will explore how LED light functions when it comes to cannabis cultivation. “Many growers are used to using HPS,” Sabrina points out. “But the LED has different dynamics. The knowledge about it needs to be built up, and this is exactly what we are going to show during the webinar.” Decision making, how LED affects the yield, and how to best implement this light knowledge in a cannabis operation: these are just a few of the topics that will be touched upon during the webinar.

“For cannabis cops, the light period is as important as the darkness period,” Sabrina points out. “Just like light quality is extremely important, darkness quality is equally crucial. Together with Svensson, we are going to dive deep also on how to implement your lights into this schedule, and how using the screens to control light and climate is a fundamental knowledge to have.”

Sabrina is going to be indeed one of the speakers, and she will specifically discuss what they have learnt so far about cannabis lighting and what a good strategy for the application of LEDs is. “I think that LEDs are for sure the future of cannabis,” she observes. “But also of horticulture in general. This simply because we evolve the technology of light and, at the same time, our knowledge.”

These are the topics of the webinar:

  • Achieving true darkness with blackout screen
  • Humidity management considerations when screening
  • Enhancing your climate with shade screens and insect control screening solutions
  • Effect of spectra and light recipes on compounds and plant chemistry
  • The efficiency of lighting and the effect on yield
