CAN (NS): Newly licensed cannabis grower plans to bring jobs to community

A Toronto-based company is announcing its intentions to grow a budding cannabis cultivation operation in Annapolis County.

“We will be hiring as many as 150 people in a wide range of jobs,” said ZURI INC. general manager and chief operating officer A K Hollett in a news release circulated by the Municipality of the County of Annapolis on Sept. 29.

“We have purchased lands and a facility in the immediate area and have completed its first two phases of development.”

Planning work is ongoing for the additional phases of development. Information circulated by the County of Annapolis says the company’s local expansion will involve the construction of new production facilities, Smart Technology greenhouses and housing.
