Javo USA offers cannabis solutions for real-world issues

As the cannabis and hemp industries explode in the North American market, Javo USA, Inc. General Manager Michiel Vanderwaal points out an unassailable fact: it all starts with a plant.

“At Javo USA, we have more than 40 years of experience helping our clients grow plants in a safe, productive, cost-effective manner,” Vanderwaal said. “We often deal with highly specialized plants, such as phalaenopsis, bromeliads, or cannabis and hemp. It still starts with a plant, it’s just in this case, the plant is much more valuable and has its own distinctive set of requirements.”

Javo USA has worked with dozens of cannabis and hemp growers in recent years, but is now moving beyond simply selling the latest potting machines, robots, downstream logistics and substrate handling machinery, Vanderwaal said.

The company will now extend its services to include solutions for its cannabis customers.

“We are fortunate in that we get to see growing solutions at nurseries and greenhouses in North America and around the world,” he said. “We want to bring this technical knowledge more thoroughly to the cannabis and hemp industries. Many of the cannabis growers in North America have an incredible depth of knowledge in regard to cannabis and hemp plants and varieties, but need additional information and solutions for growing on a commercial scale.”

So Javo USA will help cannabis growers to combine their knowledge of cannabis with Javo’s decades of commercial growing experience.

“We have the ability to help growers design or re-design their potting space to maximize efficiency, reduce labor costs and maximize productivity. We can also offer help in reducing how much the plant is handled, which is a primary damage and disease vector,“ Vanderwaal said. “We will consult and help them put together CAD drawings, which helps growers visualize the workflow before It’s done in the ‘real world’ where errors or oversights can be extremely expensive.”
