Foaming and fogging with new watering tools

Normally, Dramm would be in Essen, Germany this week for the IPM. "We miss seeing all of our European customers and look forward to getting together when possible," they say. Dramm would have displayed their complete line of watering tools there, including the  newest items FOAM8L, the K-50 PulsFOG, the TracFOG. Fortunately we can also introduce some novelties digitally!

FOAM8L
The FOAM8L is a foamer that uses compressed air to make a rich foam. "Like a compression sprayer, you hand pump the FOAM8L but, leave a reservoir of air in the tank. This air mixes with the solution to create the foam," they show. "This of course requires the use of foamable products.

The Dramm FOAM 8L Compression Foamer produces a rich, aerated foam that slowly degrades over time, allowing for more contact time.

The FOAM8L comes with three different mixing valves to allow for different air/solution ratios and different qualities of foam. "By using compressed air, the quality of the foam is superior to systems with use atmospheric pressure and siphoned air. Hose-end foam nozzles, using such systems, produce a sudsy lather, not a rich foam. A true, aerated foam will not only last longer, improving contact time, but it will cling to vertical surfaces, helping to disinfect walls and crevasses."

K-50 PulsFOG
The New K-50 offers more power for quicker applications and further coverage distances. With four carburetors producing 175 HP, the K-50 has a maximum output of 250 liters/hour and a maximum distance of throw of 300'.

Like other PulsFOG units, the K-50 has a throttle at each carburetor to control fuel flow into the combustion chamber. However, this new unit includes a master throttle and master valve that allows for trimming the engine and shutting it off without having to adjust the four individual valves.

TracFOG
The TracFOG* rapidly applies chemicals as a fog. The ultra-fine cloud of droplets penetrates deep into the plant canopy covering all surfaces, ensuring excellent control of greenhouse pests and diseases.

The TracFOG is a PTO driven fogger that tractor mounts using a 3 point hitch. Like the PulsFOG, the TracFOG can cover very large areas very rapidly. As the air source is not combustion, heat sensitive products are safely applied without damage or a reduction in efficacy.

In addition to the manuals listed with the specific equipment, Dramm supplies a supplemental manual that includes mixing instructions. Find it here, also inluding more information on the TracFOG

This year also the Brass Swivel, Commercial Fan Nozzle, the One Touch Valve, and the Metric to US adaptors are added or renewed. Click here for more information on those.
