The Legal Cannabis Coalition (LCC) in the Netherlands has four new members. These are Delphy, the Viscon Group, the VEK Advisory Group, and Thar Process. LCC is the Netherlands' knowledge center for the development of legal cannabis.
There aren't only more members. From now on, Darryn Bruce will assist the current consultants. These are Thomas Rau, Arno Hazekamp, and Peter Tas. Darryn has extensive project management and business development experience. He's also been active in the cannabis industry for the past several years. He'll help LCC provide improved service to its members.
Licensed Producers and seed breeders may want to associate with LCC in some way. This isn't as clients but as members. This procedure will be further elaborated in the coming months.
''The LCC has adopted a one-stop-shop position. It wants to support growers worldwide as professionally as possible. These new members will strengthen and expand that position," says Rob Kwinten of LCC member, Grodan. Jeroen van Buren of Delphy adds, "Dutch horticulture's strength comes from sharing knowledge and working together. Our collaboration with the LCC means we can apply this same principle in the cannabis sector."
“The LCC's powerful knowledge and content makes it distinctive. That benefits its clients. But even more important is the energy its members bring. They push each other to the next level. We're looking forward to that," said Maren Schoormans of Viscon Group, which recently joined the LCC.
The entire chain
The LCC was founded more than a year ago. It began as a partnership between companies based in the Netherlands. These are in the Horticulture and Starting Materials top sector. They decided to pool their knowledge and experience. That was in a medicinal cannabis cultivation trial. Wageningen University & Research (WUR) was conducting this. Afterward, various parties other parties joined the coalition.
These companies specialize in cannabis product development. They included laboratories, a Life Science company, and a dryer manufacturer. They wanted to provide the best service to growers, governments, investors, and retailer markets' demands. These demands include the entire cannabis chain, from seed to end product. Things like cultivation site development, technology, and cultivation optimization are needed.
Then there are research, laboratory testing, GMP, compliance, and product and market development requirements too. The LCC shares its expertise and experience with internationally Licensed Producers. They do so through training and consulting. It also develops concrete research. That's done in cooperation with international universities and research partners. And the coalition helps growers worldwide to switch from their existing crops to cannabis too.
