US (OK): MMJ brings in million in tax revenues

Medical cannabis is bringing in big money for Oklahoma State.

Since 2018, the revenue gained from medical cannabis has steadily increased.

The State Tax Commission reports more than $66 million in tax was collected last fiscal year, a 56% increase from 2019.

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority says there are more than 378,000 active medical cannabis licenses.

For comparison, taxes on cigarettes brought in 71 million dollars.
