US (OK): What to know as the OMMA boosts MMJ oversight in Oklahoma

Recently appointed leaders of the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority on Friday highlighted initial changes to industry oversight and touched on further action needed to ensure one of the nation's largest cannabis markets is in compliance with state law. 

Friday's discussion focused on efforts made in the first 30 days of authority Executive Director Adria Berry's tenure and the aims of the authority moving forward into next year's legislative session.

Some changes have already gone into effect, such as increased collaboration with industry stakeholders ranging from individual businesses, interest groups, and tribal governments, officials said.

Other changes, like new package labeling guidelines and increased public access to records and lab testing data are still in the works but anticipated to come in the near future, Berry said. "From this point on it's going to a hard reset, we're going to be changing a lot of our procedures," Berry said.
