US (FL): Tallahassee-based greenhouse to grow patented genetics

Neon Bloom has executed a licensing agreement with Floresta, LLC to manufacture Panakeia plants, Bazelet’s US plant patent cannabis genetics, at its greenhouse and breeding facility in Florida’s capital city. Panakeia plants produce 0.00% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), making it the first and only federally legal cannabis plant.

"The Tallahassee-built Panakeia plants will support our ongoing relationship with the FDA and applications it is working on with two FDA agencies. We regularly share our scientific and clinical research initiatives with the FDA, as well as our commercialization efforts in the US. Last year, we met the Commissioner and several Deputy Commissioners and Directors of the FDA about the science and safety of cannabis products derived from 0.00% THC, 0.00% CBD cannabis plants for lawful use in food, drug, and cosmetics," the Bazelet team stated.

“I am pleased the Tallahassee facility was selected as the site for these important plant production activities. We've taken great measures to identify an organization with the proper facilities, licensing, and experience to produce our special plants,” said Bazelet co-founder and Director, Michael Elzufon.

In addition to supplying FDA research-related work, the Panakeia plants manufactured in Tallahassee will be used in the manufacture of THC-Free, non-psychoactive consumer products, and lastly, up to 10% of the plants will be donated to cERI-Florida, a 2022, Florida focused cannabis Education and Research Initiative.
