The Bill calling for the legalization of adult-use cannabis in Malta will move to its third and final vote. Calls for changing the Bill were dismissed, and thus it will move forward without major amendments.
Among the dismissed call for change were recommendations made by the Nationalist Party as well and the NGO’s Caritas, Oasi Foundation, and the Secretariat for Catholic Education about introducing a cap on the percentage of THC.
No formal amendments were moved by the Nationalist MPs, but they also suggested that the bill should require more technical qualifications from people chosen to lead the new authority that will regulate cannabis use.
With the final vote next, it seems like legalization in Malta is coming closer and closer.
