Russia: Preferential lending to agricultural producers

The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia refused to develop a draft decree of the Government of the Russian Federation concerning changes to the rules of preferential lending to agricultural producers

An increase in expenses due to the rise in the cost of credit funds can lead to extremely negative consequences in protected soil, as well as to a decrease in the investment attractiveness of protected soil, and the country also faces many challenges, including: construction of new and modernization of existing greenhouse complexes in the Far Eastern Federal District, where at the moment the level of provision of the population with vegetables of protected soil is the lowest in the country.

Thanks to the unification and common opinion of industry Associations and unions, it was possible to avoid amendments to the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, in terms of reducing the subsidized interest rate on concessional loans to 70% of the key rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and to maintain the marginal key rate of 5%.
