A top secret look inside Australia’s first medicinal cannabis farm worth $130 million

Getting a look inside the first large-scale commercial cannabis farm in Australia, worth $130 million, is not as easy as it sounds. The crew of the Australian talk show The Project was invited for a tour inside the Little Green Pharma facility, hosted by Fleta Solomon, CEO. However, they had to agree to tight security and arrive blindfolded, as the precise location of the facility is to remain a secret. Solomon explains: “As part of our license, we are required to keep the location of our facility a secret. First of all, the safety of our staff is absolutely paramount, but we also want to keep unwanted businesses at bay.”

Years ago, Solomon came up with the idea for the cannabis company, wanting to help patients worldwide. “What if we could change the lives of thousands of people across the globe with our Australian grown cannabis medicines, and really solve patients’ problems.” LGF applied for a license in 2017 and currently has a staff of 150 across Australia and Denmark. “We have about 1700 plants in the facility and about 5.5 harvests per year. As part of our federal license, we have to make sure every single plant is barcoded and every leaf is measured and weighed. The quality of our medicinal cannabis is very high and free of any pesticides or contaminants."
