CAN (NS): Researchers and industry experts will gather to discuss the challenges and how to advance cannabis cultivation

Since the legalization of cannabis cultivation and its use in Canada, research has been conducted both at academic institutions and in commercial companies to improve the science and technology in cannabis cultivation. Right after the legalization, there was a rapid increase in the number and acreage of cannabis operations, but recently the industry started to face some new challenges. To identify the challenges and explore ways to move forward, a Cannabis Symposium will be held on August 19, 2022 in Canada’s beautiful coastal city Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Researchers and experts from the cannabis industry will be getting together at this symposium. Industry experts, such as Dr. Lasse Schulze, the Director of Research and Agronomics at Cronos Group, will discuss the challenges the industry is facing and what the industry needs from academia. Researchers, such as Dr. Zamir Punja, will report the newest research results in cannabis cultivation.

The symposium is part of the Canadian Society for Horticultural Science’s 2022 Annual Conference. The conference will have a tour to visit some typical farms in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. The organizers have negotiated a very good price for rooms at the Lord Nelson Hotel & Suites for attendees to stay during the conference. The rate is good three days before and after the conference as well. This is a great place to meet your colleagues and have a short holiday with your family or friends to enjoy Canada’s beautiful East Coast.
