US (MI): Cannabis facility's workforce increased by 20%

UBaked, a cannabis cultivation in Burton, recently added nearly 6,000 square feet of new canopy space at its indoor facility. The business is looking to add a second shift and increase its workforce by 20% ahead of their upcoming fall product launch - a line of three flavored cheese puffs and microwave popcorn.

UBaked currently employs around 60 people and hopes to add as many as 20 employees in the upcoming weeks. “So the purpose of the new space was to expand our cultivation and our processing area,” Amy Beauchamp, owner of UBaked, said. “And then in that expansion, we’re going to be increasing our workforce. Even though it seems like times are difficult for people, we’re still growing.”

The building was already created with the purpose of cultivating and processing, and Beauchamp made it clear it was not a renovation.
The jobs offered will have a pay range between $15 to $20 per hour that includes benefits and a second shift, giving employees flexibility with their schedules.

In addition, UBaked will offer a new line of jalapeno cheddar infused with THC. UBaked, which opened in 2019, has both medical and adult-use products that include traditional gummies, sleepy gummies, and daytime gummies. They also offer chocolate candy bars and lemonade drinks infused with THC.
