Northwest Missouri State University is providing online programs relating to cannabis cultivation, business, risk management, and healthcare.
Northwest's cannabis education programs aim to help create more jobs for farmers and educate Missourians on the growing cannabis industry.
"The goal is to get people educated so they can learn more about the industry if they want to enter it. It is one of those things that's new to Missouri and Northwest Missouri, so we're really trying to help the area become a little bit more educated on what this is. And people who want to start a career in this field can actually do that," says Jay Johnson, Northwest's Associate Provost.
There are four unique programs for students to enroll in.
"We have one in business. We have one that is a general industry program. We have a course in healthcare, and we have a cultivation horticulture program. We also have a new compliance program," Johnson says.
