Solving challenges
According to Karen, one of the biggest challenges that Trym solves is providing visibility into the critical operational data in a cultivation business. "How is your team performing? How are the plants doing? Am I in full compliance? Trym gives you the tools to analyze and improve your performance and ultimately your profitability." Moreover, sensor integrations display climate and root zone data in Trym and inform growers of the health and progress of their cannabis plants. "Real-time and historical data ensures optimal harvests and continued successes."

In a time where it's more critical than ever to reduce overhead in order to remain competitive under market factors and price compression, Trym offers helpful analytics to increase efficiency and keep production on track. "Also, labor is the greatest expense in commercial cultivation. By streamlining team management, automating the scheduling of recurring activities in the facility, and improving internal communication, Trym can significantly increase productivity."

A need for more visibility
Five years ago, the Trym founders saw the cannabis industry really begin to blossom, and cultivators professionalize their businesses and, with that, their technology. "The market had a number of seed-to-sale software to solve compliance problems, but no one was offering a specialized solution to help cultivation businesses improve their operations. In our early conversations with cultivators, we heard over and over again a need for a better way to manage the growing team. To schedule activities and ensure work was being performed efficiently. People were scaling their businesses and needed more visibility into farm operations - even when they couldn't be on site. That led us to develop our mobile app first, followed by the full web version."

To make things easier, Trym is integrated with Metrc nationwide and serves as a complete compliance solution for growers. "When we onboard a new customer, we sync their Metrc account to Trym, so the data is mirrored in both systems. Once trained, customers can perform all actions that need to be reported to Metrc in Trym, and all of that data will be sent to Metrc. Some actions can even be conveniently performed in our mobile app - since growing is not a desk job. Our bi-directional sync ensures that Trym and Metrc are never out of sync, eliminating many of the support issues that arise with other compliance or seed-to-sale software," Karen adds.
