US (CA): County reaches 100 cannabis cultivation licenses

This week marks the noticing of the 100th commercial cannabis cultivation license since licenses began being noticed in May.

The new licenses differ from the hundreds of previously released “provisional” licenses in that every license issued must have a fully completed CEQA determination, whereas before, licenses had been issued under the provision that cultivators were working toward a CEQA determination. Issuance of provisional licenses were court-ordered to be ceased and voided in September of last year after a settlement in the case of Trinity Action Association v. The County of Trinity was ruled to be in violation over the CEQA issue.
