"When running a perpetual harvest, having full control over your lighting is essential"

"We have multiple phases in one room. If you don't have the proper control over the lighting, the plants will start bleaching and stretching too quickly," says Joe from Gibby's Garden. The company was the first cannabis micro business in the state of Massachusetts. "We are a family-owned business, and it was definitely a lot of work, but we're very happy with where we are today. From the start, we've been using the TSRgrow LED lights to optimize our production."

A competitive market
Being the first micro-business in the state, the company had to go through some challenging starting up. "Once we got the licensing done, it was tough to find a building with a landlord who is welcoming to a cannabis operation. It was a brand new industry, so we understand the reasons. But luckily, we found a very welcoming building three years ago." Now that more and more licenses are being given out in Massachusetts, the competition has been increasing. "Therefore, we focus on small batch, high-quality craft cannabis. For us, it's all about prioritizing quality to stay competitive. We will also soon be launching some new genetics, which we're very excited about."

Full control
Joe explains that they have been using the TSRgrow lights because of the amount of control they give. "We have full control over each individual rack, the different strains, and different phases. Because we run a perpetual harvest, we have multiple phases in one room. So if you don't have those controls, plants will start bleaching and stretching too soon. Now we can control individual lights, dialing them in for that stretch phase so that they don't get too much power. After that, we can ramp them up again for the bulking phase. When it's time to flush, we drop the lights down a bit again, as we don't want any extra growth at the end. Because of this precise control, everything is really tuned into producing some of the best cannabis in the state," Joe adds.
