Cees den Boer, co-founder Svensson Netherlands, passed away

On Monday, March 13, Cornelis (Cees) den Boer, former director and co-founder of Svensson Netherlands, passed away suddenly. He was 83 years old.

Four weeks ago, Cees, together with his eldest daughter Clarinda, was at HortiContact in Gorinchem, where, after so many years, many people still knew and recognized him. He was a real connector. Many contacts from his working days were still in touch with him.

Over 40 years ago, he set up the Dutch branch of Svensson, together with Ivan Ludvigson and Göran Henningsson. In 1981 he and his wife Annie stepped into this adventure.

They started in a shed in Zuidland, working hard and making long days. After a fire in Zuidland, the company moved to the newly built location in Hellevoetsluis in 1985, the current location on Marconiweg.

Cees managed Svensson until his wife Annie died suddenly at 54. At 60, he quit and handed over the helm to Anders Ludvigson, the current CEO and son of Ivan Ludvigson.

Thanks in part to Cees den Boer, the success of Svensson climate screens was born. According to him, the most important factor of success was reliability. High quality and the best solution for the grower. For the sales of the screens, he established a global network. The market position and brand recognition of Svensson climate screens are largely due to Cees' entrepreneurial spirit. He went through fire for the customer.

The funeral took place on Saturday, March 18, at the Abbenbroek cemetery.
